National Health Center Week is an annual celebration recognizing the important work health centers do in caring for the health of their communities. The reach and scope of health centers has significantly grown since the nation’s first was established at Columbia Point in Dorchester, Massachusetts more than fifty years ago.

Health centers began as places for the underserved and uninsured to access essential medical care. Today more than 27 million people receive a wide range of services at 10,400+ health center delivery sites throughout the nation. Throughout the years health centers have added dental, behavioral health, optometry, substance use disorder treatment, and other services. Health centers now provide affordable, high-quality healthcare services to people at every income level, whether insured or uninsured, and play a vital role ensuring everyone has access to needed care.

Last year 24,144 patients chose Community Health Connections for their healthcare needs. This week CHC will greet every patient who comes through the doors with a Thank You card and chance to win a $50.00 local grocery store gift cards and healthy recipe booklets. It’s just one of the many ways CHC shows how much it cares.
